Lu Han – Medals

Medals (勋章) by Lu Han (鹿晗)

Lu Han starred in and wrote this theme song for the Chinese movie The Witness. This movie is a remake of Blind, a Korean movie starring Yoo Seung Ho in the same role.

As much as I love this song (and love Yoo Seung Ho), I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch either movie. It looks a little too intense for me these days. Too much has happened in my personal life in too short of a time, and I keep crying my way through movies. So the movies will stay on my to-watch list for and the song will stay on repeat.

My weapon is the dream I hold on to tightly

And the wounds I have suffered are all my medals

Hua Chen Yu – Ordinary Path

Ordinary Path (平凡之路) by Hua Chen Yu (华晨宇)

I get a visceral reaction every time I listen to this song and I have listened to it a lot. Hua Chen Yu has an amazing voice and he does such interesting things with it. I love so many of his songs and yet this is number 1 by a long shot.

The video for Ordinary Path is from his time on the show Singer 2018. It is an amazing performance and I love everything about it… his intense eyes and wtf mullet… the ecstatic audience members (especially the boy in white ^^)… everything.

I always have this video open in a tab on my phone so I can listen to it whenever I want. This version isn’t on Spotify, sadly, though there is another version by another singer. The other one is good and has a nice upbeat feel to it, but Hua Chen Yu’s version is absolutely god-tier.

I love it so much. I hope you love it too.
